Brushing Day work areas

Post by CHOPPER 3 »

Just a reminder about brushing day . We have done a lot of brushing in the Armstrong Creek and Laona sections this fall . Our main focus being rider safety and increased visibility on the trail as well as maintaining egress for our grooming equiptment . Much of this has been done by machine and there will be plenty of branches and debris to be removed from the trail . The NST from JCT 5 , just south of Long Lake to Shaddock lane just south of Newald , has been brushed but again branches need to be removed . The Nelligan Pond area has been brushed from Newald Tower east toward the big swamp , this section is under water as usual but we did make some progress where possible . SS1 south of Armstrong has also been brushed to the swamp and down through the Christmas Tree Inn section to Goodman Park Road . Another area of focus on Brushing Day will be on the Rat River Trail . Many areas of that section need to be brushed by hand due to the tight constraints of the trail where brushing with the tractor is not feasible . A huge thanks ahead of time to anyone participating in our annual work day , and a reminder to be safe while your out there working . Anyone interested in looking for a place to help out can contact me via our website . Thanks !! 8-)

Thank you for the update Josh, I plan on having a crew down off of Rat River road, there will be a lot of work in that area if anyone else is looking for somewhere to go. Like Josh said, I don't think there will be a lot of heavy brushing to do but branches left behind from the tractor will have to be removed. The area that hasn't been gone through is down on SS-L, I know there is a crew that normally does this area so hopefully that works out again this year. We will also be concentrating on better signing of the trails, if you think a sign is needed please contact Johnnie or Ralphie, we can get whatever is needed.

Thanks

Ralphie
