Trails look great!

Post by retrocat »

We were up a few weeks ago and the trails were GREAT!
Even with the meltdown, the pictures of the trails still look great. Thank you to the groomer drivers!!!
But with the meltdown and now freezing, just wondering how the road parts of trails are holding up....Specifically the 3-4 mile section on SS1 Heading to Armstrong Creek.
Any reports would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Some huge groups this past weekend. Saw more sleds than ever.
Most sermed to have stayed Laona and south. We went north and lost them.
Great trails. The ice base is solid.
East into Florence the snow was thinner. West to Argonne was good.
240 in a day and a half with many stops.
Bring on the new snow!

Snow Cover on Roads

The area you specifically asked about was snow covered and in good condition when last groomed early Sunday Morning.
There are some road trails in the area with minimal snow cover.
The forecast is 2" to 4" of snow Monday through Tuesday.
If accurate that should solve any snow cover issues on these trails.
Watch for wet areas and water in the swamps, there was an open spot on SS1 that Josh filled in but there is potential for these areas to reopen.

The hole on SS1 would have been nasty to hit. I'm sure it surprised a few.

Hope by filling it and the cold weather will take care of it.

Thanks so much for the info on the trails and roads on SS1 and other trails.
We plan on being up for a few days this week.
Will be on the lookout for that water on SS1. Hopefully the cold will freeze it up again.
Big thumbs up to all the groomers! We are lucky to have so many dedicated groomer drivers.
