Re: Rat River Rd. Trail Head

Didn't notice when you posted this a few weeks back, but there appears to be a fawn hiding behind the brush in the right foreground!

Well ... s**t - we just jinxed this one by talking about it! (JK!) Seriously, I hope it works out somewhere along these lines. I know conditions are currently thin. We rode out of Crandon for the whole of NY's weekend. The riding was really fun (and bone crushingly cold!), but everyone in my group, ...

Question for Chopper / Jim & all the rest of the 100 Miler groomer drivers: Seeing as trails are "officially" open, would you prefer.... a) To see riders avoid these swampy sections of trail? OR b) Is it helpful for you if the swampy sections get "ridden in" so to speak - wil...
Is anyone aware if Oconto and Langlade counties will open as well? :ineedsnow::tracksidedown:
FWIW ... Red Arrow's report from earlier today definitively states they will NOT be open, and they're furthest north in Oconto, so I'd assume same goes for Paul Bunyan, as th...

It was hard to see against the bright groomer lights, but one of my posse was pretty sure it was Jim. To his credit, he did get out to chat, but my bud cut him loose to continue. By the time I got done getting my 2 sleds back on trail, Jim was already rolling NB again. Maybe next time!

Groomer encounter - SS1

Quick comment ... Me and my posse were running SB on SS1/SS6 Wednesday night, and we encountered the groomer, running NB, roughly 1/2 way down to Wabeno. We met up at a particularly inconvenient and narrow spot in the twisties, and we somewhat buried ourselves getting off trail in a small side clear...
Coming up to ride Thur and Friday. How are the trails holding up? I see there's some snow in the forecast. Thanks!
Ditto - possibly heading up as early as late tomorrow night, assuming conditions are reasonably rideable. Starting to hear rumors that, despite all the me...
I have to laugh, me and my buddy rode past right after you took the photo. MXZ X and an F1000.
I do remember waiting for two guys to ride through, heading west, and we followed right behind. Maybe that was you guys? The guys we followed soon turned south on SS#3 (by the...

Echoing the original post, I also got in my first riding of the season (other than a 70 mile "starter" ride in Waukesha/Racine Co. before the Christmas melt-down.) Put 471 on my Nytro and the first 301 break-in miles on the new Viper. Stayed at the BW in Crandon, and put almost all the mil...
